Mizuki Aoki researches the psychological and social difficulties of people who stutter and how to support them, and developed the Comprehensive Self-Acceptance Scale for Stuttering (CSASS), a validated measure of self-acceptance among people who stutter (Aoki & Miyamoto, 2024).
Aoki has served as a stuttering consultant for Japanese TV dramas, including Utsukushii Kare (MBS) and Dame Mane! (Nippon TV, 2025), and is the Representative Director of Tokyo Genyukai, an organization for people who stutter.
